For Physicians Only
Muldowney Physical Therapy is a privately owned physical therapy facility that specializes in neck pain and low back pain. We will work one-on-one with your patients for 45 minutes every treatment session which is 30-50% longer than the standard average in Rhode Island. This means your patients will never be left alone in our clinic and they will be monitored at all times during their appointments in our clinic. This extra time gives our physical therapists the time to explain the injury to your patients. Therefore, they will be better informed about their progress when they come to see you for their follow-ups.
Our goal for your patients is that they receive high quality treatments every time they come into our facility. Therefore, we do not have any physical therapy aides on our staff. I believe a physical therapist that completes an evaluation of your patient has the best understanding about how to treat your patient and get them better. This model will achieve the best results for your patients. If you have patients who failed physical therapy in the past, have them try our unique style of treating low back pain and neck pain to see if we can help.
Besides treating neck pain and low back pain, our facility offers other programs which may help your patients.
Balance Program: Six week program for older adults who are experiencing decreased balance and have an increased risk of falls. This program focuses on leg and core strengthening as well as proprioception reeducation. When your patient completes these 6 weeks they will show marked improvement in balance measured by the Berg Balance Scale. They will also be discharged with a home exercise program which will help them maintain their increased strength and balance.
Fibromyalgia Program: Linda Letourneau has been working with this population for over 15 years. She uses specific manual techniques and simple exercises to get this population moving and exercising again.
Amputee Program: Justin Laferrier is an expert in treating this population. He will work with the physician, prosthetist, and patient to coordinate a collaborate care.
Vestibular Program: Whether it is central or peripheral vestibular dysfunction, our staff works with this population using specific exercises or Hallpike maneuver for BPV to decrease the dizziness and increase the quality of life.
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome: Click here to see our page.
We have two facilities one in Cranston and one in north Smithfield to better service your patients.
