Low Back & SI Joint Pain
Most people with EDS have low back pain. Muldowney Physical Therapy performed 54 five-hour evaluation and treatment sessions in 2025. Here are the results.
- 10/54 (18%) were screen positive for tethered cord syndrome and were referred to a neurosurgeon for a complete evaluation of this condition. These clients were eliminated from our study.
- All the remaining 44 patients. The average low back pain was. 4/10 at the beginning of our five-hour evaluation and treatment session.
- 43/44 (97.7%) stated 0/10 low back pain at the conclusion of our five-hour evaluation and treatment session. The other patient stated they had 1/10 pain in their lower back at the conclusion of their session.
- All 44 patients received a video of me that was recorded on their phone, stating exactly what the issues were causing them low back pain. Also, videos were recorded during our session of all the manual therapy techniques that reduce their low back pain to 0/10. A family member was also trained in these manual techniques so they could help decrease my patient’s low back pain at home.
