Shoulder Pain
How We Assess Shoulder Pain
When we look at the top half of your body in a person with hypermobility, I believe the shoulder runs the show. What this means is that if you have severe shoulder instability, it will cause pain in your shoulder, mid-back, and neck. Strengthening your rotator cuff muscles as well as your scapula muscles can help reduce the pain in all of these areas. I developed this taping technique to stabilize your shoulder while performing exercises in Chapter 3 of my book. Have your physical therapist tape your shoulders as instructed in the video, and see which areas have pain relief. Then you’ll understand how your shoulder instability is affecting your entire body.
